The Eve of a Blue Moon

A Full Moon Meditation

Tonight is the second full moon in this month of December and it is unusual to have it fall on the last day of the year. Some call this a Blue Moon when we see two full moons in one month. It is a rarity to have more than 12 full moons in a calendar year and we see this happen every 2 to 3 years. The saying "once in a blue moon" speaks to something that does not occur often. Tonight is a perfect opportunity to engage in a Full Moon Meditation. This is when we take time to pause our activities and focus our attention upon the energies of the full moon in the evening sky.

Acknowledge and give thanks for the blessings in your life as you allow the shimmery light & energy of the moon to shine upon you. Name what you are grateful for and set intentions for what you would like to achieve over the next month till the next full moon occurs on January 30th. This can be a powerful meditation for some and a regular meditation to do each month on the eve of a full moon.

" Meditate. Live Purely. Be Quiet.
Do your work with mastery.
Like the Moon, come out from behind the clouds!
Shine."

Friday December 18th, 2009

As we move into this holiday season, and the end of 2009,
it becomes a perfect time to reflect upon this past year.
December 21st marks the time where the sun will begin
its journey towards longer days ~ a time for renewal and growth.

Take time to contemplate your life through the lens of the Yamas and Niyamas. Does your life reflect kindness, awareness, compassion, integrity and contentment? Can you accept the lessons learned through your experiences? Is there something in your life that speaks towards change? ........ Allow this new year to be an opportunity for growth......for change.... for expansion and for hope. Thank you for sharing time with us as we continue to explore the gifts that yoga
may bring to our lives.

Be gentle with yourself and take time to see the treasures each day has to bring.
With Blessings for this holiday season,

sharon, bridget, pam & tracey

The studio will be closed from Monday Dec. 21st until January 4th.
